This program will eventually fulfill the signature experience requirement in Mass Communication. It is a unique chance for students to experience first hand professional film practices that they have studied in previous classes in the Mass Com Major. The class is targeted to students from all majors who are interested in learning about and working in the entertainment industry.

MAC 425 (3 credits)
Prerequisites: Relevant disciplinary course work and ability to articulate interest in issues regarding the entertainment media. All applicants will be interviewed by the Inside Hollywood faculty.

Course will meet typically 9-5 Monday through Friday, plus weekends

Tuition Refund Policy
You must officially withdraw from a credit program registration by 4:30 p.m. on the last business day before the start of the course to receive a refund. The $125 administrative fee is non-refundable unless the program is cancelled by Miami University. Failure to attend, non-payment, or contacting the workshop director is insufficient notice. To officially withdraw from a course, you must contact Global Initiatives, 216 MacMillan Hall, global@MiamiOH.edu, (513)529-8600.

ADMINISTRATIVE FEE $125.00 Charged to Bursar bill
Administrative Fee Refund Policy
The $125 administrative fee is non-refundable.

 

PROGRAM FEE (Summer 2015) non-refundable $1600 TBD
DEPOSIT (contributes to overall program fee; non-refundable) $250 TBD
Program fee includes housing, ground transportation and some tours. This includes a $250 housing damage deposit.

Program Fee Refund Policy
The program deposit and the refund policy is set by the director. Other than a $250 housing damage deposit, this amount is non-refundable. The housing deposit is refundable upon conclusion of the program pending approval from housing agency.

Additional Anticipated Expenses $1300 out of pocket
Additional Anticipated Expenses include meals, incidentals, travel to LA.

Fees are subject to change without notice

All summer and winter session courses and credit programs are enrollment contingent, and are subject to cancellation due to low enrollment.

Application requirements: Relevant disciplinary course work and ability to articulate interest in issues regarding the entertainment media; quality of academic record.  All applicants will be interviewed by the Inside Hollywood faculty. A record of serious disciplinary problems may be grounds for denial of entry into the workshop.
